According to domesticviolencestatistics.org, every 9 Seconds, a woman is assaulted or beaten in the United States.

EVERY NINE SECONDS – not nine weeks, not nine months, but every nine seconds.

Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women—more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined.

Studies suggest that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually.

Men who witness domestic violence as children are twice as likely to abuse their own wives as adults.

Everyday in the US, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends.

These are extremely sobering statistics.

The S.E.C.R.E.T.S. series chronicles the heart-wrenching experiences of 21 courageous women who are forced to keep their husband’s secrets involving physical abuse, adultery, mental cruelty, pedophilia and incest among other things.  These “Christian” men, who are leaders in the church and community, have perpetuated the abuse suffered by these women and hold such titles as Bishop, Apostle, Pastor, Elder, Reverend, Deacon, and Minister.  Even more shocking, the abuse is occurring in the one place thought to be a safe haven and a place free of these offenses  --  the CHURCH!

Sadly, women in the church have often been taught to believe that their marriage vows include abuse.  However, THEY DO NOT!  Through the S.E.C.R.E.T.S. series, Pastor Shirley informs well intentioned but misguided First Ladies that they do not have to endure horrific acts of brutality in order to please God.  She also gives voice to women who felt their experiences could never be revealed and provides a platform for them to be heard.

This is the reason Pastor Shirley is so passionate about assisting organizations dedicated to helping victims of domestic abuse.

SHE-BE is a foundation established by Pastor Shirley to assist battered women from all walks of life.  SHE-BE stands for Solidarity Helps Enable Bondage Eradication.  Through Pastor Shirley, SHE-BE, and the S.E.C.R.E.T.S. series, God ministers to those women whose secrets are destroying them from the inside out.  Pastor Shirley’s message to victims of physical, mental, psychological, sexual, and even spiritual abuse is the adoption of a zero tolerance policy, the women are not alone, and there is help for them.
